Disposable addresses for testing an app

Check by hand the sign-up, confirmation and password-reset emails of the app you build, with addresses that fade away on their own.

What it suits

  • Signing up again and again on a staging site, each time with a fresh address.
  • Seeing a mail as your users see it, its code or link spotted, its remote images blocked until you show them.
  • Showing a mail to a teammate, with a read-only link you can revoke.

Its limits

  • 5 active addresses at a time, 20 new ones per hour.
  • No API: the terms forbid automating the service.
  • Receive only: nerdbox sends nothing, so it cannot test a reply.

For automated tests

An end-to-end test suite needs a service made for it: a mail testing service with an API, or a mail catcher running in your own test environment. nerdbox is for the checks you do by hand.
